Return to San Antonio” often called “Alamo City” or “Military City, USA,” San Antonio is also notable for its strong military presence and long-standing relationship with U.S. armed forces. The city combines historic preservation with modern growth, offering a relaxed yet lively atmosphere that emphasizes hospitality, community, and cultural pride.
The hotel is offering the same room rates 3 days prior and post reunion. We suggest you make your room reservations by phone. Call the hotel directly at 210-223-4361 / 800-345-9285. Make sure you tell the hotel you are with the USS Frank E. Evans Association.
Rooms/Parking/Breakfast
- Standard King or 2 Double Beds (King beds dependent upon availability, first come, first serve basis.) Room Rate @ $149.00 per night, Single or Double Occupancy + Tourism fee + tax.
- Room Reservation Cut-Off Date – Friday, September 21, 2026. Reservations made after this date will be made upon availability at the current rates.
- Parking is $30.00 per day, note the Menger no longer owns the parking lot. Day / Event parking is $20.
- Breakfast is not included with the room rate. However, meals are offered in the Colonial Room at a discounted 20% when showing your name badge.

Events & Tours
Wednesday, October 21, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM – Creepy (Pub) Crawl
Get ready for a “walking” (or should we say creeping… or crawling!) tour with the shortest route possible—so bring your canes, walkers, wheelchairs, broomsticks, or anything that helps you glide along and join in the fun! We’ll make our way to Crockets Tavern, just out the back door of the Menger Hotel, for a no-host dinner. They offer a spook-tacularly large menu, and rumor has it there may even be live entertainment to keep the party going! Costume prize winners will be announced at the tavern—you must be present to win, so don’t disappear into the night too early! We will return to the Menger Bar and Hospitably room around 8 p.m. If you prefer a quieter haunt? The hospitality room will remain open for those looking to relax away from the festivities. Come for the fun, stay for the boos and good times!

Thursday & Friday, October 22-23 – Hop-on Hop-Off Trolley (Old Town Trolley) & River Boat Tour
At $53 you will not find a better package. The price is discounted just for us!
Hop-On-Hop-Off Trolly. Good for Thursday and Friday (2 days) unlimited use. The trolly makes 19 stops throughout the City of San Antonio. This is an opportunity to see all the sights on your own and at your pace. Trolly runs every 20 minutes from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, a map of the city with all the pick-up / drop off locations is provided. Trolly pick up is just outside the Menger Hotel main entrance.
River Boat Cruise. Good one time only on Thursday or Friday. Boat Cruise departs about every 15 minutes and the tour takes about 45 minutes. Boats operate from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. You can take the trolly to the Boat docks.

Thursday, October 22 – Hopscotch Immersive Art Experience
Join us for this event in the lobby at 10:00 a.m. Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the city’s immersive art experience—often recognized as Hopscotch—offers a vibrant, interactive journey into the world of modern creativity. The experience last as short as 40 minutes to 1 ½ hours, your speed. This unique attraction redefines the traditional museum by inviting visitors not just to observe art, but to step inside it. As guests move through the exhibit, they encounter a series of interactive spaces—ranging from dazzling light displays and optical illusions to hands-on installations that respond to movement and touch. The experience encourages exploration and creativity, allowing visitors to engage directly with the artwork and even become part of it. Transportation for this event will be provided by use of your Hop-On-Hop Off tickets.

Thursday, October 22 – Game Night!!
Gather in the Ballroom for an evening of surprises, trivia and games. Yes, we will have prizes for the winners and some for losers too. Snacks provided. This is being brought back by popular demand.
