Reunion Details
The land of Lincoln awaits your presence at this year’s USS Frank E. Evans Association Reunion. Our reunion starts Wednesday September 27 in Springfield, Illinois at the Northfield Inn and Suites. The address is 3280 Northfield Drive, Springfield, Illinois 62702. Keeping the price as low as possible, yet providing a good place for our lodging, food and entertainment remains a high priority.
Getting to & Around Springfield
- Airport: Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. Serviced by American, United and Allegiant.
- Springfield is 96 miles north of St. Louis MO.
- Springfield is about 200 miles south of Chicago
- Northfield Inn is located on the northside of downtown Springfield, just off Interstate 55. Downtown Springfield is only 15 minutes away.
- Uber, Lyft and local taxi service is available for those who want to venture to the downtown area.

Make your room reservations now by calling the Northfield Inn & Suites. If you wish, you can make your reservation through the hotel’s website. If you call the hotel, make sure you inform the hotel that you are with the USS Frank E. Evans Association.

- Room Reservation Cut-Off Date: Monday, August 28, 2023. After the cut-off date, reservations by attendees will be accepted upon availability at the current rates.

- Standard Kink or Double Queen (King beds dependent upon availability on a first come, first serve basis.) Room Rate: $102 per night, single or double occupancy, + tax.
- Two Room King Suite (Dependent on availability & first come, first serve basis.) Room Rate: $129 per night, single or double occupancy, + tax.
- Breakfast included each day, Extended Continental breakfast with both hot and cold items.
- Check-in time is 3:00pm, check-out is at 11:00am
- No pets allowed. Service animal allowed.

- Download the fillable .pdf & mail in to the Association with payment
- Read the entire packet, including itinerary and tour information.
- Complete the registration form (blue in the mailed packets, links above for online versions). Select your Meals, Tours & Registration.

Events & Tours
Wednesday, September 27, 2023 – 4:00pm-9:00pm – Motorheads Route 66 Museum Bar & Grill
- Price per Person, $62.00 – includes meal, entertainment & gratuities (Meal & Bus Driver)
- Dress is casual.
- Assemble in the lobby at 4:00pm Bus leaves the hotel at 4:15pm.
- Travel to Motorheads which is located along Route 66 in a building originally owned by the Stuckey’s Corporation. In 2016, Ron and Pat Metzger purchased the property, which had been scheduled for demolition. Ron, a “collector” with a love for car memorabilia and Springfield nostalgia made it his mission to save the building and create a place where he could share his passion.
- Motorheads opened its doors in 2018. In the main building, you will find beer taps that are mounted on the rear ends of vintage cars that once drove Route 66. Adjacent to the main restaurant is the Texaco faced museum that hhouses even more memorabilia. In here you will find Bill Shea’s car collections.
- All you can eat pizza, salad, tea and coffee is included with your ticket.
- We will return to the hospitality room following our return to the hotel.

Thursday, September 28, 2023 – 9:00am to 4:00pm – Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum / Downtown Springfield
- Price per person, $43.00 – includes museum entrance & gratuity for the bus driver
- Assemble in the hotel lobby at 9:00am sharp. Bus leaves the hotel at 9:15am.
- We will travel to the Lincoln Presidential Museum. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum documents the life of the 16th U.S. president, Abraham Lincoln and the course of the Civil War. Your booking includes entry into the museum. Explore on your own the other sites close by such as the old capital, the current capital and other Lincoln attractions. Please note that the interior of the OLD CAPITAL is not open – it is undergoing restoration.
- The buss will leave around noon and take you to the downtown area. You are on your own for lunch. We have allowed enough time for you to explore the downtown area and shop. Information on what to do and see will be available in your Reunion Welcome Packet.
